The AWA driving unit was designed first to exend deep hole drilling machine tools (see right side).
Often guiding bore is made by deep drilling tools, then short time for changing to chamberboring- tools is useful.

In the aircraft industrie there is more and more the trend of cutting inner and outer contour in one machine tool. So BGTB AWA system is also used at special lathes for the inner profiling.
